Continuing training

The training offer is aimed at companies, professionals, entrepreneurs and individuals who wish to develop their professional skills and abilities in technical & scientific fields, for professions and on leadership, soft-skills and management. In this context, the Centrale Lyon Continuing Education team implements a training-counseling-support continuum according to needs.

Our strengths:
Training courses are offered in a variety of durations and formats, inter and/or intra-company and/or tailor-made. Depending on the programs, they are graduating and/or certifying and, can benefit fromeligibility under the CPF. They aredelivered by teacher-researchers and practitioner-experts seasoned in transmitting to professionals and responding to strategic and/or operational skills needs. All speakers are committed to a high pedagogical quality in their interventions.

Sustainable development and CSR:
Centrale Lyon's commitment to sustainable development & societal responsibility has been rewarded with labels and positioning in rankings. The Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility Label (DD&RS) guarantees the commitment of schools, universities and research institutes to ecological transition. To achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) set by the United Nations in 2015, research plays a key role. As such, Centrale Lyon is developing excellent multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary research and intends to strengthen the mobilization of its teacher-researchers on the ODD. We specify for each of our training courses the ODD(s) concerned and the DDRS level.

Immersive scenarios, designed with an eco-responsible approach, thus offer a unique ability: to experience complex situations, communicate intuitively and universally, while integrating sustainability and resource efficiency issues.

Examples of VR/AR usage:

Climate impact simulator: show the consequences of rising waters, deforestation or pollution on a city or ecosystem.

Building energy diagnosis: raise awareness of the energy impact of temperature set points in a building or current insulation choices.

Technical skills training: with simulators dedicated to welding, painting or plastering without the need for materials or energy (soldering station, compressors, etc.). Similarly, simulators for heavy equipment (overhead travelling cranes, cranes, specific site machinery, etc.) avoid the need to mobilize industrial equipment to the required level of validation.

Renewable energy training: simulate the installation and maintenance of wind turbines, solar panels or geothermal systems.

Since 2019, Centrale Lyon has deployed a strategy for evaluating cross-disciplinary skills, alongside the evaluation of disciplinary resources, whose challenges are to support students in their professionalizing training and to individually attest to their skills profile with a diploma supplement.

The plenary conference format and/or tailor-made for companies and professionals enables apprehension of key issues in various fields (climate, civil engineering, energies, artificial intelligence, resources, tribology, decarbonization, pollution, operational excellence ..) in the light of recent research and expertise from teacher-researchers.
