Exchange year

The exchange year is amobility program offered to students in the general engineering curriculum. It lasts for one academic year, under an exchange agreement with one of École Centrale Lyon's partner universities: Erasmus agreement, bilateral agreement. It does not lead to a degree from the host university, but to the validation of credits.

The duration is two academic semesters for a total of at least 30 ECTS credits or equivalents. Students will also be required to carry out a TFE (Travail de Fin d'Études) in a laboratory or company, carried out as a priority in the host country and giving rise to a report and defense according to the procedures for a TFE at École Centrale de Lyon.

Double Diploma

The Double Diploma enables students to obtain their foreign diploma and the École Centrale de Lyon diploma almost simultaneously. It takes place at one of Centrale Lyon's partner universities.

In general, the course of study lasts a minimum of two years - possibly extended by a semester to learn the language of the country, as is the case for China and Japan. This curriculum is the responsibility of the host university in terms of graduation requirements.

At the end of this program, you will obtain two diplomas, the Centrale Lyon engineering diploma and the master's degree or engineering diploma from the foreign university.

Non-partnership Master

In addition to exchange agreements, Centrale Lyon offersstudents in the general engineering curriculum the opportunity to enroll in a Master's program at a university with which it has not signed a partnership agreement. This choice must nevertheless be validated by the University Exchange Commission (CEU).

Students who apply outside partnerships, will be treated by the host University like any other applicant. They follow the university's standard recruitment and admissions process. It is recommended to have a particularly strong portfolio.

In this type of training, students obtain two diplomas but training abroad is done outside partnership agreements with Centrale Lyon.
