Preparing your departure abroad

International mobility enables students to gain a better understanding of international issues by adapting to new cultures and customs. Centrale Lyon and the International Relations Development Department are keen to support students throughout this process, to help them make a smooth start.

1.Defining your project

Finding funding is a key step for many students considering international mobility. Scholarships help to reduce the costs associated with tuition fees, accommodation and daily living, making a stay abroad more accessible.

3. Insuring your health

When it comes to international student mobility, it's essential to prepare well for your departure, particularly in terms of health and insurance. Appropriate coverage not only allows you to benefit from healthcare in your host country, but also to avoid sometimes high costs in the event of accident or illness. There are therefore a few points to bear in mind:

  • Be affiliated to the health insurance fund for the duration of your mobility, whatever your destination. If you are leaving to study at a European university, you will need to obtain a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) in your host country, so that you can access healthcare under the same conditions as those insured in your host country. The EHIC is sent by the health insurance fund to which you are affiliated
