To strengthen its links with industrial partners, Centrale Lyon set up a "Centrale Innovation" subsidiary in 1993. This private-law structure, whose missions are complementary to those of the Research Partnership and Development Department, is shared with Centrale Nantes and Centrale Méditerranée.
Centrale Innovation has several missions
- Taking charge of research partnerships with the socio-economic environment, negotiating and then monitoring the administrative and financial aspects of industrial research contracts
- Supporting the creation of start-ups from Centrale Lyon laboratories and hosting innovative companies at the Auguste Moiroux science center in Écully.
