Master Plan for Student Life and Well-Being

In line with its strategic plan, Centrale Lyon unveils its Student Life and Well-Being Master Plan. Concerned with the quality of life of its students, the School wanted to draw up an official document presenting concrete measures to be taken between now and 2026.

After a very difficult post-COVID period for community life, the school needed to harmonize practices and objectives across the two campuses and make student well-being an integral part of its strategy.

A collaboration between students and the school

The Student Life and Well-Being Master Plan is the result of a joint brainstorming between 6 students from the Écully and Saint-Étienne campuses and the heads of the Student Life departments. For 5 months, the project group surveyed students, alumni and staff. A diagnosis of campus life was drawn up and priority needs identified.

A project built around 5 axes

The Student Life and Well-Being Master Plan translates into a roadmap built around 5 axes:

  • Dynamize campus life and integration for all.
  • Enable students to take care of their health.
  • Enable students to develop and enjoy festive life in complete safety.
  • Strengthen actions in terms of social policy.
  • Support actions in favor of sustainable development and social responsibility.

For each axis, concrete actions are defined and players identified.

The first actions within the campuses

To respond to the Student Life and Well-Being Master Plan measures, a Commission for Student Life will be set up within each campus. This body will meet quarterly to support the operation of associations, encourage interaction, monitor projects and provide support for any issues they may encounter.

Associations are becoming more involved in health and safety issues by joining the Peer Care program. This peer prevention scheme consists of training aimed at reducing or limiting risks in the consumption of dangerous products such as alcohol, for example, and contributing to the early identification of risky behavior and addictive behavior.

Other actions are carried out in conjunction with the SDBVE, such as promoting the practice of sports with the setting up of an Air Fit zoneor the integration of hearing-impaired people with workshops for learning French sign language.
