VAE, or Validation des Acquis de l'Expérience, is a system for obtaining professional certification (diploma, title or certificate) based on professional or personal experience, without having to go through traditional training channels.
Diplomas concerned
Centrale Lyon is authorized to award its two engineering diplomas by VAE:
Achieving a diploma through VAE requires written (dossier) and oral (jury) argumentation: the candidate must prove that he/she has mastered all the skills in the referential of the diploma in question.
Centrale Lyon can also award the Master's degrees for which it is accredited through VAE.
Public concerned
Holders of a bac +2 or bachelor's degree, who can provide proof of at least one year's experience as an engineer.
(In practice, it is extremely rare for one year's experience to enable mastery of all the skills in the reference framework, rather at least three years' practice of the profession is required).
