A range of services for socio-economic players
Centrale Lyon is attuned to the needs and developments of the socio-economic world, creating links between students, the School and companies.
Faithful to its tradition as a leading engineering school that looks to the world and is integrated into its times, the Establishment supports companies in their development and innovation processes thanks to:
- A pool of students, national and international, among the best of their generation;
- A dedicated and competent teaching staff;
- An active body of researchers connected to the priorities of the socio-economic world.
Centrale Lyon accompanies companies through major transitions based on its two key missions to produce and transmit knowledge:
Training
- Training in basic and engineering sciences, economics, humanities and social sciences;
- Training that includes the complex issues linked to major transitions in business and society;
- Graduates with the skills to transform scientific knowledge into technological and social innovations.
Research
- Research conducted in partnership with industrial players, major public organizations and international partners to provide answers to societal challenges;
- Research laboratories internationally recognized for their work in a broad disciplinary spectrum;
- Technology platforms unique in Europe.
Through these two missions, a large number of actions designed with and for companies enable us to support them in their innovation initiatives. Centrale Lyon offers them 5 possible areas of collaboration:
3 types of possible partnerships
Centrale Lyon offers several types of collaboration for companies of all sizes (large groups, ETIs, SMEs, start-ups...), with a global approach to the fields of possible cooperation, for a customized offer and a format adapted to the company's needs.
In order to best meet the expectations of the socio-economic world, Centrale Lyon offers companies the opportunity to develop one-off partnerships to:
- Host interns: Learn more about recruiting and challenging centraliens
- Carry out assignments within the training program or entrust a study to student engineers: Learn more about intervening in training courses
- Conduct a research project: Learn more about proposing research projects to laboratories
Employer Brand partnerships are developed around 3 types of action:
- Image: to develop the employer brand
- Educational actions: to participate in teaching
- Sourcing: to recruit trainees or young graduates
These are broken down into four categories, which can be adapted to the needs and expectations of companies in order to best guarantee the efficiency of actions:
Image | Educational actions | Sourcing actions | |
Partnership QUARTZ | Standard pack | 2 shares | 3 shares |
Partnership ÉMERAUDE | Privilege package | 3 shares | 4 shares |
Partnership RUBIS | Continuous pack | 4 actions | 5 actions |
Partnership DIAMANT | Customized pack | 4 shares | 6 shares |
This type of partnership covers both the "Employer Brand" dimension and the "Research and Innovation" dimension.
For example:
- Employer Brand action: participation in Partners' Day
- Continuing Education action: setting up an intra-company training course in Operational Excellence
- Research action: carrying out a research contract
.

A partnership approach to major transitions
Sustainable Development and Social and Environmental Responsibility (DDRSE) is a natural part of the services offered to socio-economic players.
In order to meet today's global challenges, reflection on major transitions is actively pursued within the Centrale community, whether engineering students or research professors. In particular, it is reflected in projects and actions to contribute to environmental, energy, digital and societal transitions.
Among many examples, the Ingénieur et Transition Ecologique forum organized each year by students and the École enables exchanges between companies and students on the subject.
