The role of a leading public engineering school is to support socio-economic players, contribute to the definition of public policies and participate in the dissemination of scientific culture and approach. The SD&RSE master plan includes actions to promote the school's vision of engineering to its communities and partners, as well as to the general public.
Develop interactions between science and society to contribute to the deployment of responsible development that reconciles economic, societal and environmental dimensions.
Issues
- Define, share and accelerate the deployment of our engineering vision to get socio-economic players on board and support public policies.
- Demultiply the impact to accelerate the deployment of responsible engineering within socio-economic players by drawing on our alumni community.
- Exchange expertise and best practices with peers to strengthen the consideration of scientific and technological data in decision-making by public and economic players, and contribute to the evolution of standards.
- Bring science closer to the public by strengthening public confidence in scientific methods and data, and by stimulating critical thinking through the scientific process.
- Make the knowledge generated by research accessible to the scientific community and the general public.
- Increase awareness of the diversity of research and engineering professions, and encourage vocations.
Actions
- Present the master plan and its progress in alumni communication tools.
- Map alumni working on DD&RS issues or involved in DD&RS networks.
- Integrate DD&RS topics into masterclasses offered to alumni.
- Organize breakfasts around DD&RS for alumni.
- Create an alumni group around DD&RS issues and establish a roadmap.
- Conduct joint actions towards alumni with the Groupe des Écoles Centrale.
- Initiate reflection with a few private and public partners.
- Organize an initial seminar on a multidisciplinary DD&RS topic with the Lyon-Saint-Étienne College of Engineering.
- Organize an initial transdisciplinary DD&RS seminar with the Lyon Sciences College of Advanced Studies and partners on DD&RS.
- Organize a summer school in conjunction with the two colleges and the Groupe des Écoles Centrale with a view to setting up a Think&Do Tank.
- Create the Think&DoTank and draw up its roadmap.
- Draft a first white paper.
- Map our involvement in DD&RS networks (teacher-researchers, administrative staff, students).
- Identify relevant local, national and international DD&RS networks.
- Establish a strategy for participation in target networks.
- Emerge new in-house experts and support them in involvement in national and international DD&RS research networks.
- Disseminate best practices from networks during scientific cafés on SD&RS.
- Move scientific networks towards SD&RS.
- Propose the creation of SD&RS labels for scientific networks.
- Be a force for proposals upstream of European and national calls for projects.
- Imagine new regular events to popularize SD&RS research in line with the "Open Science" roadmap.
- Launch the first Responsible Engineering Days with the Lyon-Saint-Étienne College of Engineering.
- Design and implement support services and tools to accompany researchers throughout the life cycle of research data.
- Edit a practical guide to the management and dissemination of research data.
- Develop recommendations for the management of data from scientific projects with a view to sharing results.
- Launch support for researchers in feeding the scientific data portal recherche.data.gouv.fr.
