Entrepreneurship at the heart of Centrale Lyon
Innovation often brings together entrepreneurs and creators, and is facilitated by a common goal: the creation of value in response to needs.
To transform ideas into new marketable products or processes, Centrale Lyon's dynamic is built around a triptych of training, research and hosting start-ups. Young, innovative companies are thus creating a veritable entrepreneurial ecosystem.
A pathway dedicated to entrepreneurship
The entrepreneurial engineer training pathway, offered to 3rd year students, attracts around 17% of the graduating class each year. On average, it leads to the incubation of 4 companies on the Lyon-Écully campus, 2 of which are created even before the students finish their course. On the Saint-Etienne campus, around ten 5th-year students take part in the BEELYS support process each year, leading to the creation of an average of one company over the last three years.
The 6 Centrale Lyon research laboratories, well versed in partnership relations with the socio-economic world, are also present alongside these young entrepreneurs to support them in their technological maturation and lead them towards a marketable product or process.

Three locations
To implement this ecosystem, Centrale Lyon has three locations to host these entrepreneurs:
- the Skylab, dedicated to pre-incubation;
- the Centre Scientifique Auguste Moiroux (CSAM), managed by Centrale Innovation at the heart of the Lyon-Écully campus and offering a 1,000 m² space to house start-ups;
- and the Saint-Étienne campus located on rue des Aciéries.
