Olivier Dessombz graduated in Engineering from École Centrale de Lyon (1996) and obtained a PhD in Mechanical Engineering in 2000. He is Assistant Professor at École Centrale de Lyon since 2002. His research focuses on uncertainties in mechanical structures. He is involved in the three-year courses at École Centrale de Lyon, from basic mechanics to structural dynamics, and is also in charge of the third year aeronautic specialty. He also gives courses in continuing education. He took part in commissions and administrative councils at L’École Centrale de Lyon for many years, and is currently member of the Department of Solid Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering (MSGMGC) council, for which he is also the IT correspondent. Moreover, he is member of the French NAFEMS steering committee, and is responsible for a course on advanced simulation in structural computations.
