Gregory Vial is an alumnus of École normale supérieure de Cachan and holds a PhD from the University of Rennes-I. He taught for ten years at École normale supérieure de Rennes as agrégé préparateur. He joined École Centrale de Lyon in 2011, as a Professor of Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. He is a specialist of Applied Mathematics. His research activities, conducted within the Camille Jordan Institute, focus on mathematical analysis and numerical computation for partial differential equations from electromagnetism or mechanics. Since September 2019, he is also Director of Studies at École Centrale de Lyon.
