A dual 4-year course
The double degree program follows the “2+2” pattern: two years at Centrale Lyon, then two years at STRATE Lyon.
First and second years at Centrale Lyon
For the first two years, Centrale students follow the initial curriculum of either a general engineer or a sensory engineer, depending on their admission.
Third and fourth years at Strate Lyon
After completing the first two years of their engineering curriculum, students enter the Strate Lyon design school, specializing in UX & Interaction[s] Design.
Third year at Strate Lyon
In September, engineering students are offered a pre-entry course to bring them up to speed, with theoretical and practical input in the form of projects. The academic curriculum is then structured around third-year Strate courses in the first semester, followed by fourth-year courses in the second semester.

Fourth year at Strate
The year begins with an analysis phase and continues with a design phase, during which the student implements the various stages of his designer diploma project, which he will present at his final defense before a jury of professionals.
From June to December, students complete a 4 to 6-month engineering-related internship, which is recognized as a final project in the engineering curriculum.
Selection
This course is open only to student-engineers in Centrale Lyon's generalist curriculum. Interested students must take a 3-week refresher course during the second year of the generalist curriculum.
Interested students must commit to activities during their first two years that introduce them to creative approaches and the materialization of ideas through sketches, models, programming... This commitment is integrated, for example, into Centrale Lyon Innovation Camp (CLIC) weeks, study projects, S8 specialization courses, or FabLab projects.
Students submit their applications during their second year (in January), which are examined by the Studies Committee in March. Strate Lyon may organize an introductory design week during the spring vacations to confirm students' interest in this double degree and enable Strate to evaluate applications.
