A dual 6-year course
1st year: application
Students follow the general engineering curriculum and apply for the dual curriculum. Following a pre-selection process, successful candidates must complete 3 compulsory activities:
- complete a 5 half-day placement with a general practitioner
- complete a hospital internship at the Hospices Civils de Lyon
- First aid training
2nd year: upgrading
The students selected continue with the engineering curriculum and at the same time follow a series of additional courses given by the Lyon Sud and Lyon Est faculties on Thursday afternoons.

From 3rd to 6th year: going on to study medicine
Engineering students are fully integrated into one of Lyon's medical faculties. In their third year, they take a General Medical Sciences course (FGSM3) and continue for a further three years in the FASM (Advanced Medical Sciences) cycle.
