A dual 4-year course

The double engineer-researcher curriculum enables students to follow a set of courses taught by ENS de Lyon in parallel with the Ingénieur Généraliste curriculum at École Centrale de Lyon.

  • 1st year: engineering curriculum at École Centrale de Lyon
  • 2nd year: engineering curriculum at École Centrale de Lyon and additional courses at ENS de Lyon to prepare for the 2nd year of the double curriculum
  • 3rd year: M1 in one of the Masters offered by partner institutions
    • Matter Sciences
    • Biology
    • Earth and Planetary Sciences, Environment
    • Mathematics and Applications (Advanced Mathematics track)
    • Computing (Fundamental Computing track)
  • 4th year: M2 of the same Master

Selection

This pathway is open only to engineering students in the generalist curriculum who have successfully completed their first year and are enrolled in their second year.

  • Students apply during their first year of the generalist curriculum, but their project must be prepared as early as the first year.
  • Selected students then apply to the other school. An interview takes place between the student and the head of the chosen course at the host establishment.
  • 1st year: corresponds to L3 of the ENS de Lyon curriculum
  • 2nd year: M1 in one of the following Masters:
    • Material Sciences
    • Biology
    • Earth and Planetary Sciences, Environment
    • Mathematics and Applications (Advanced Mathematics track)
    • Computing (Fundamental Computing track)
  • 3rd year: students enter the first year of the engineering curriculum at École Centrale de Lyon ( S7 and S8)
  • 4th year: students continue in M2 of the previously chosen Master's degree

Selection

This course is open to students from the scientific departments of ENS de Lyon.

  • Students apply for the double-curriculum first at their home institution. An initial selection takes place at the institution.
  • The selected students then apply to the other institution. An interview takes place between the student and the head of the chosen course at the host institution.
