Overview of the doctoral schools

The doctoral schools organise the education of future doctors of engineering and prepare them for their professional lives. The schools provide students with a multidisciplinary setting as part of coherent scientific studies. They ensure doctoral programmes are aligned with international standards and are made attractive to potential candidates. The schools also participate in the development of facilities.

The doctoral schools coordinate the admission of new doctoral students, their re-enrolment and the authorisations for defending theses.

EEA - Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Automation - ED 160

EEA comprises all Lyon laboratories and researchers involved in the area of electronics, electrical engineering, automation and signal processing.

It is supported by eight laboratories or laboratory teams. It has approximately 80 researchers who are authorised to supervise research.

Director: Philippe DELACHARTRE
Deputy Directeur: Alberto BOSIO

Under the aegis of

  • École Centrale de Lyon.
  • Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1.
  • INSA Lyon.
  • CNRS.

EDML - Materials Lyon - ED 34

EDML relies on the scientific expertise of 11 joint research units (UMR) that pursue a diverse range of activities, from the characterisation and fabrication of materials (study of a material’s microstructure and properties) to the modelling of their behaviour. The materials studied can be structural materials (metals and alloys, ceramics, polymers, composites), functional materials (for example, those used in electronics and optoelectronics) or synthetic or organic materials (including those studied in geology and biology).
