Presentation

PhD engineer from Ecole Centrale de Lyon in 2003, Christelle Monat joined Centrale Lyon in September 2010, first as Maître de Conférences, then as professeure des universités in September 2019, after two post-doctorates at EPFL, Switzerland (2004-2005) and the University of Sydney, Australia (2005-2010). She teaches in the physics department of Ecole Centrale de Lyon, is involved in the master Nanoscale Engineering and is part of the iLUM team at the Institut des Nanotechnologies de Lyon. She is interested in all-optical on-chip information processing. Her research work involves the use of compact optical structures and nonlinear materials to create anintegrated photonic platform for routing and manipulating information, directly by optical means, in compact, fast and low-power components. The applications of this research cover both the communications field, but also sensors by exploiting the medium-IR band.

Training courses

His teaching activity covers several physics disciplines, including physics of matter, semiconductor physics and nanophotonics. These fields are covered in depth for both engineering and apprenticeship students, with a particular focus on the advanced applications of these technologies in the electronics, materials and communications sectors.
