Presentation
René Chalon is an engineer with a degree and doctorate in computer science from the École Centrale de Lyon. For nearly ten years he wasresearch engineer at CNRS where he worked onmultimedia authoring tools in several European projects. He joined the École Centrale de Lyon in 2000, where he is lecturer in computer science at the department of mathematics and computer science and researcher at the Laboratoire d'informatique en image et systèmes d'information (LIRIS).
Research projects
His main research themes are Human-Computer Interaction and Computer-Aided Collaborative Work. His current activities focus on mobile interactions for ambient intelligence using advanced interaction techniques (gesture interaction, mixed reality, eye tracking, etc.). His areas of application focus mainly on smart-cities, mobile learning and serious games.
Training activities
- Responsible for the "Computer Networks" course in the 3rd year of the generalist engineering curriculum.
- Involvement in multiple computer science courses
