Presentation
Wouter Bos holds a CNRS research professor position at the Fluid Mechanics and Acoustics Laboratory (LMFA) of the École Centrale de Lyon, France. His primary focus lies in exploring the fundamental aspects of turbulence in fluids and plasmas. Wouter Bos earned his degree in Applied Physics from Delft University in the Netherlands, subsequently completing his Ph.D. on mixing in turbulent flows at the École Centrale de Lyon. Following this, he served as a postdoctoral researcher at the M2P2 Laboratory in Marseille, France, before joining LMFA as a CNRS Researcher in 2007. In 2012, he obtained accreditation to supervise research and attained the position of research professor (directeur de recherche) in 2023. Beyond his expertise in turbulence, Wouter Bos has diversified his research pursuits, engaging in a broad spectrum of topics. These include epidemic modeling, sports analytics, mixing phenomena, nuclear fusion plasmas, statistical mechanics, and dynamical systems.
