Presentation
Xavier Bombois obtained the title of civil electrical engineer in 1997 and that of doctor of applied sciences in 2000 from the Université Catholique de Louvain (Louvainla-Neuve, Belgium). After his PhD, he joined Delft University of Technology (Delft, Netherlands), where he was appointed Assistant Professor in 2001.
In 2014, he obtained the Habilitation to supervise research at the École Centrale de Lyon. He was appointed Research Director at CNRS in February 2015 and has since been working at the Ampère laboratory.
Research projects
His scientific research focuses on optimal data generation for modeling engineering systems with a view to their control. Xavier Bombois is associate editor for the IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control.
