From the start of the 2026 academic year, Centrale Lyon will be introducing a modulation of tuition fees for new engineering students. This ambitious decision, adopted by the Board of Directors, is in line with the school's desire to reinforce social equity by facilitating access to engineering training for all.

Fairer access to the engineering diploma

From the start of the 2026 academic year, Centrale Lyon is implementing a modulation of registration fees for new enrollees in its various engineering courses.

Fees now calculated according to family income (Revenu fiscal de référence/parts) will vary between €1613 and €4113 compared with €2613 for all in 2025.

A total exemption is maintained for CROUS scholarship students. About half of all students will see their tuition fees decrease.

This new organization makes it possible to limit the threshold effects of reducing the financial brakes for the middle classes.

A decision part of a collective dynamic

The introduction of this scheme is part of in-depth work carried out with the establishment's governing bodies and a collective dynamic undertaken within the Groupe des Écoles Centrale.

A simulator is made available to candidates so that they can anticipate the amount of their registration fees with complete transparency.

A drive to broaden access to engineering studies

This modulation is a continuation of Centrale Lyon's actions to promote access to the engineering degree:

  • The creation of the cycle préparatoire intégré CapECL allowing access to the generalist course or to one of the school's specialty courses, deployed for the past 4 years alongside the Centrale Lyon ENISE preparatory cycle dedicated to specialty courses on the Saint-Étienne campus.
  • The implementation of life scholarships with the support of our patrons.
  • Student job offers on each campus to supplement income while serenely reconciling studies and gainful activity.
  • The recruitment of a social worker to provide students with the best possible support throughout their studies.
  • Participation in several Cordées de la réussite to combat self-censorship in the guidance of middle and high school students.

Together, these schemes give concrete expression to Centrale Lyon's commitment to promoting access to a grande école for profiles from all backgrounds.
