A dual 6-year course

1st year: application

Students follow the general engineering curriculum and apply for the dual curriculum. Following a pre-selection process, successful candidates must complete 3 compulsory activities:

  • Conduct a 5 half-day internship with a general practitioner
  • Conduct their performance internship in a hospital setting at the Hospices Civils de Lyon
  • Conduct first aid training

2nd year: mise à niveau

Selected students continue with the engineering curriculum, and at the same time follow a set of complementary courses delivered by the Lyon Sud and Lyon Est faculties on Thursday afternoons.

  • Medical genetics
  • Infectious diseases
  • Cancerology

From 3rd to 6th year: continuing medical studies

Student engineers are fully integrated into one of Lyon's medical faculties. In their third year, they take a Formation Générale en Sciences Médicales (FGSM3) course, and continue with a further three years in the FASM cycle (Formation Approfondie en Sciences Médicales).
