College of Engineering Lyon Saint-Étienne

Centrale Lyon, ENTPE, INSA Lyon and Mines Saint-Étienne combine their expertise in research and their know-how in initial and continuing training within the College of Engineering.

Open to economic players and local authorities, the College of Engineering, created in 2022, aims to meet the challenges of major transitions. It aims to be the demonstrator of a new model of territorial cooperation between academics and socio-economic players. Within this framework, the schools are committed to driving collaborative projects, open to other academic players on the site, and developing joint engineering actions that enable synergies to be implemented in the fields of training, research, innovation and technology transfer, entrepreneurship and the dissemination of knowledge.
The actions of the Engineering College are structured around three priority societal issues: decarbonized industry and society, the circular economy and a responsible digital society.

Major commitments:

  • dialoguing with social and economic players to anticipate their training and research needs;
  • providing knowledge, resources and technologies to support major transitions;
  • increasing the number of graduates from the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region;
  • supporting companies in their industrial transformations.

Mutualized actions:

  • creation of new Bac+3 courses, new specialty engineering degrees and intensification of the attractiveness of international masters;
  • development of lifelong learning;
  • strengthening links between students and local companies and support for technological entrepreneurship;
  • increasing research and innovation with companies;
  • strengthening the presence of research laboratories in European projects.

The College of Engineering plays its part in the dynamism of regional industry and contributes to the Plan Région des ingénieurs et techniciens 2023-2028 adopted by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region.

Thus, in addition to the actions carried out by each of the member establishments, the Collège d'Ingénierie proposes mutualized actions on the three components of the plan: increasing the number of graduates, supporting local companies and promoting industry professions.
