Xavier Bombois

Xavier Bombois was born in Brussels (Belgium) in 1974. He received the Electrical Engineering and Ph.D. degrees from the Université Catholique de Louvain (Louvainla-Neuve, Belgium) in 1997 and 2000, respectively. After his PhD dissertation, he joined the Delft University of Technology (Delft, The Netherlands) where he was appointed as an Assistant Professor in 2001. In 2014, he received the Habilitation degree (HDR) from the École Centrale de Lyon. Since February 2015, he has been a CNRS Research Director with the Laboratoire Ampère. His research pertains to the optimal generation of data for the accurate modelling of engineering systems with a view to modelbased control. Xavier Bombois is an Associate Editor for the IFAC journal Control Engineering Practice and for the Conference Editorial Board of the IEEE Control Systems Society.
