Research is focused on the physics and modelling of turbulence, hydrodynamic instabilities, two-phased flows, environmental fluid mechanics, internal aerodynamics, coupled thermal phenomenon, aeroacoustics, acoustic propagation, methods to solve Navier-Stokes equations, active and passive control of flows, and microfluids. 

The total number of staff in LMFA is around 200 with more than a 100 permanent staff.
