Societal challenges
École Centrale de Lyon seeks to make meaningful contributions to the significant challenges facing society. It has developed its research strategy with this in mind. These major European and national issues appear in the French research strategy and in European programmes. They are consistent with the strategic issues of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region. Yet, some remain specific to the institute, such as ‘Aeronautics and space’, which reflects the strong collaboration of Centrale Lyon’s laboratories with companies in that sector.
