Archipel

The Archipel project was launched with the goal of building on-campus spaces conducive to exchanges, cooperation and multicultural meetings among people within and without Centrale Lyon. It reflects the institute’s desire to ‘live better together’ and strengthen all internal and external links.

Relocation of management and development of new services

Management at the heart of student life

In October 2020, École Centrale de Lyon’s management moved to the heart of student life. It is now in the building that houses the student centre and the university restaurant (building M14-16). This new location allows all stakeholders to have the opportunity to mix while obtaining new spaces and services common to all.

New services

  • The student centre has been under renovation since Autumn 2020 and now has a place for relaxation and entertainment on its mezzanine floor: the faculty club.
  • A cafeteria, l’EsCaLe, was created in partnership with CROUS to offer fast catering services to complement the existing restaurant.
  • A cookery school (CookingLab) will be established with the assistance of Institut Paul Bocuse and CROUS. Work will begin in January 2021 and it is scheduled to open in September. This school will be open to students and staff of the three institutions, allowing them to learn and research culinary arts.

Redesigning a reception and services centre

This centre is scheduled to open in 2025. It will greatly improve the access of Centrale Lyon students and researchers to administrative and technical services. Located at the entrance of the campus (buildings D4 and D5), it will create a more efficient access to our campus.
