Magali Phaner-Goutorbe is Professor of Physics and Chemistry, and Nanotechnology, at École Centrale de Lyon, and Dean of International Affairs since September 2012. She is in charge of the school’s international policy in the field of training and research. She teaches Microscopic Physics, Physics and Chemistry of Surfaces, Nanobiotechnology and Surface Characterization, in French and in English. She carries out her research at the Lyon Institute of Nanotechnology (INL), on the use of Near Field Microscopy techniques and specially the Atomic Force Microscopy to analyze at a molecular scale, organic layers for organic electronics applications and biological systems for drug development and diagnostic. Her work received financial support from national programs and resulted in publications in international journals and communication national and international congresses.She developed projects with engineering students on Popular Science for disadvantaged neighborhoods junior high school pupils.
