José Penuelas is Associate Professor at École Centrale de Lyon since 2009. He is member of the Materials Science and Solid-State Physics section and teach Physics at École Centrale de Lyon and Electromagnetism at École Centrale de Pékin. He holds a PhD from the University of Orléans and is a member of the Heteroepitaxy and Nanostructures research team at the Lyon Institute of Nanotechnology (INL). His research addresses nanoscience and nanotechnology, and more specifically the correlation between physical properties, structure and morphology in nano-objects. The main applications of his research are information technologies and energy.
