François Buret

Professor of electrical engineering (CNU 63)EEA/Ampère

François Buret is Professor of Electrical Engineering at École
Centrale de Lyon. His teachings relate more specifically to the
electromechanical conversion and electrical power systems. Vice-
Dean of Studies since 2012, he is responsible for the organisation
of the elective courses for the engineer training. Researcher at
the Ampère Laboratory (CNRS UMR 5005) where he is also
Associate Director, his research has focused on the design of
the electrical insulation of high-voltage gas-insulated switchgear
by combining numerical models for calculating electric field and
experimental characterisations. For a decade, his research has
focused on the interactions between electromagnetic fields and
biological systems. He is a member of the Steering Committee
of the Research Cluster SEEDS that bring together the French
Laboratories of Electrical Engineering. Since 2011, he is also a
member of the National Board of Universities for the 63th section.
