Fabien Godeferd

CNRS Research DirectorMFAE/LMFA

Fabien Godeferd holds an Engineering degree from École Centrale de Lyon, a Master of Aerospace Engineering from Cornell University, a PhD from École Centrale de Lyon and an accreditation to supervise research. Prior to joining the French CNRS, he conducted research at the Center for Turbulence Research jointly operated by Stanford University and NASA, and in Italy at Politecnico di Milano. From 2007 to 2015 he was Head of the Turbulence and Stability research group in the Fluid Mechanics and Acoustics Laboratory (LMFA) at École Centrale de Lyon and is now Director of the CNRS national group "GDR Turbulence". His scientific interests include fundamental aspects for the modelling of turbulence in fluids and hydrodynamical instabilities, for atmospheric, oceanographic, and astrophysical flows. In addition, he actively participates in the development of High Performance Computing in the framework of the Federation of Scientific Modelling and Numerical Simulation in Lyon.
