Elise Contraires

Associate professor of material science (CNU 28)STMS/LTDS

Elise Contraires is Assistant Professor in Materials Science at École Centrale de Lyon since September 2012. She is an elected member of the Board of Studies and University Life (CEVU). She graduated from Université de technologie de Compiègne (UTC) in 2005 and holds a PhD in Physics – Polymer Chemistry from École supérieure de physique et chimie industrielles (ESPCI). She pursues her research within the Tribology and System Dynamics Laboratory (LTDS). Her research addresses the impact of surface morphology (from surface texturing or intrinsic defects) on friction and wetting properties, and specifically tries to understand the impact of polymer texturing on dynamic wetting (mist, drops).
