Denis Jeandel

Denis Jeandel graduated in Engineering from École supérieure
des sciences et technologies de l’ingénieur (ESSTIN) from the
Henri Poincaré University - Nancy-I and is Doctor – engineer, and
holds a doctorat ès sciences from the Claude Bernard University
– Lyon-I (UCBL). He is Professor Emeritus at École Centrale de
Lyon since January 1st, 2014, and adviser to the École Centrale
de Lyon Director. He has been a faculty assistant, a lecturer
and a Full Professor at École Centrale de Lyon. He has taught
courses on general mechanics, fluid mechanics and numerical
simulation. He was the Head of the Fluid Mechanics and
Acoustics Laboratory (LMFA), the French CNRS joint Research
Unit no. 5509 to École Centrale de Lyon, UCBL and INSA de
Lyon, from 1990 to 2002. From 1986 to 2013, he was a project
executive and scientific manager for the French Ministry of Higher
Education and Research, within the Department of Technology,
the Technological and Educational Scientific Mission and the
Directorate-General for Research and Innovation. He was member
of ONERA’s High Scientific Board. He was awarded the Plumey
Prize of the French Academy of Sciences in 1990. He is member
emeritus of the French Aeronautics and Astronautics Association
(3AF). He is Chevalier de l’ordre des Palmes académiques.
