Alexandre Danescu

Associate professor in material science (CNU 60)MSGMGC/INL

After graduating in Mathematics-Mechanics from the University of Bucharest, Alexandre Danescu obtained his PhD in Engineering Sciences from the University of Franche-Comté and joined École Centrale de Lyon in 1995. He obtained his accreditation to supervise research in 2004 and joined the Heteroepitaxy and Nanostructures research group at the Lyon Institute of Nanotechnology (INL) in 2009. He coordinated the setting up of the Solid Mechanics teaching program at École Centrale de Lyon and École Centrale de Pékin. His research interests cover theoretical and numerical issues in the following fields: mechanical modelling of surfaces and interfaces, critical phenomena and phase transitions models, scale-change and homogenisation theory, phase field theory and pattern formation.
