The Piston brassband: plays for the campus on great events and get involved in the lively flair of Lyon's touristic places and shopping miles on every Saturday.
Remedial teaching for children from poor districts and the social hostels in Dardilly and La Sauvegarde (Lyon 9th district, next to Ecully)
Help for the Notre Dame des Sans Abri Hostel for the homeless (Lyon 7th district)
Help for the Camions du Coeur soup kitchens, in partnership with the Restos du Cœur organization.
In 2003, Centrale Lyon and E.M Lyon students took part in the national energy debate with a Students and Citizens Forum, in partnership with the Mille et Une Sciences association. One of their successes was Hubert Reeves conference on the campus.
In 2004 the Students Association's Board of Humanities started a thought on religion which allowed a meeting between Michel Serres and archbishop Philippe Barbarin.
