Hubert Reeves debating earth-sickness with Central Lyon students: - April 20, 2004

On the initiative of three 2005 year students, Hubert Reeves agreed to meet with Centrale Lyon students in order to share his way to view the universe and our planet, and make them aware of the environmental issues we are facing.

A representative of the French Department of the Evironment, Ecology and Sustainable Development was invited as well and presented the stakes of the Environment Charter constitutional bill to be passed on June 25, 2004.

Born in Montreal, Hubert Reeves resides in France where he is a Director of Research at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique.  He has authored many books that are bestsellers in France, including Atoms of Silence (1985), and The Hour of Our Delight (1990). 

Reeves is highly regarded for his environmental work, as well. Much of his writing has focused on ecological issues and he has been a principal player in numerous international conferences on the subject. He is a distinguished member of several prominent environmental associations and councils.

Hubert Reeves is chairman of the ROC organization for the wild animal life protection and the nonhunters defence.
