A wide range of careers

All kinds of jobs and worlds

A Centrale Lyon engineer is a man or woman who wants to build, create or operate production units, lead project teams, innovate and run corporations.
The distinguishing feature of the Centrale Lyon engineer in the fields of industry, the new economy, the environment, construction, research and services is the ability to explain, convince, make and create sense.
Designing a new model of car, digging a tunnel or putting up a viaduct, building a refinery or a power plant, converting a big company to electronic trading, optimizing production in a steel works, developing a new image processing software package... The Who's Who of Centrale Lyon alumni reveals a wide range of jobs and sectors.

An active and powerful network

The Association of Centrale Lyon Graduates keeps close links between the School and nearly 9,000 working graduates in France and abroad. The old school network is growing ever richer scientifically, technically and managerially, with some spectacular successes and many exemplary careers.
CEOs, international workers, consultants, experts in the worlds of finance or luxury goods, EU functionaries, in South America or in Asia - Centrale Lyon alumni are always delighted to come back to campus and talk about what they are doing.

"Our degree is a true open sesame, opening up professional life in the best possible conditions. Centrale Lyon graduates remain very attached to their old School, because of the fine years they spent there and for the foundations it gave them to grow from. Through our Association, they let the School have the benefit of their experience and networks, and advise present students on how best to prepare their debut in a professional sphere rich in opportunities"

The Centrale Lyon graduate's first job: a good start

Throughout their studies, the students are getting ready for active life. They have the advantage of being able to work on their resumes and job-search techniques in small group workshops, with personalized advice from the Outside relations department.
Corporations are very present on campus: students have plenty of opportunity to make contact. The Corporate Encounter Day is one such moment.

Figures* talk: 4 months after graduation, 90% of the year 2003's graduates had found their first job (38% had done so even before the end of their studies and 42% thanks their End-of-Studies internship-TFE), with an average yearly gross income of €29,700.
