Quality is very much in the news at the start of this new school year: quality of life for the students, with the inauguration of the Paul Comparat student residence on September 27; but, above all, an improvement in Centrale Lyon's ranking among engineering schools, both in France and abroad - showing how the exam candidates appreciate the overall quality of the School and of its teaching.

 Oct. 22, 2002 : Snecma Moteurs and Centrale Lyon sign a partnership agreement to train Chinese engineers
On Tuesday, October 22nd, 2002, in Lyon, France, Snecma Moteurs and Centrale Lyon signed a partnership agreement to train Chinese engineers. The ceremony took place in the presence of Jean-Paul Herteman, CEO of Snecma Moteurs and of Jean Dorey, President of Centrale Lyon. This partnership agreement reinforces existing teaching and research links between the two parties and China.

After 35 years' close cooperation, Centrale Lyon and the Technische Universität Darmstadt sought to develop a strategic partnership in engineering training which goes beyond the usual framework of student exchange.
